If you want to track the progress of applications you can use your eDBS login and view the overall tracking dashboard or drill down to look at an individual application.
Log in to the eDBS system and select ‘applications’ in the tool bar and then ‘manage applications’ in the drop down list.
Track the progress of an application
- Log in to the eDBS system and select ‘applications’ in the tool bar and then ‘manage applications’ in the drop down list.
- Enter the name of the person you want to check (you don’t need the DOB etc.) and then click on the ‘search’ button at the bottom of the screen. You may have to scroll down to see this.
- Click on the name of the person who’s record you want to see. Again you may have to scroll down to see the names.
- You will then get a brief outline of the check. You will then need to select ‘Detailed History’ at the bottom of the screen. You will have to enter your user name and password again for security purposes.
- This will then bring up all the details of the check including what stage of the process it is currently at.
View a Result
- Log in to the eDBS system and select ‘applications’ in the tool bar and then ‘manage applications’ in the drop down list.
- Enter the name of the person you want to check (you don’t need the DOB etc.) and then click on the ‘search’ button at the bottom of the screen. You may have to scroll down to see this.
- Click on the name of the person who’s record you want to see. Again you may have to scroll down to see the names.
- You will then get a brief outline of the check. You will then need to select ‘View
- Result Summary to the left of the screen. You will have to enter your user name and password again for security purposes.
- This will then bring up all the details of the check including the certificate number towards the end of the page.
Login and track eDBS applications

If you want to track your online application you can do this using the DBS Tracking Service. The person managing your check can provide an e-reference number which can be used to log in.
